Rougham Estate, located in the idyllic Suffolk countryside near Bury St Edmunds, offers a range of activities set in the natural beauty of England.
The Estate’s history dates back centuries having hosted the Romans, Saxons and Vikings. Encompassing over 3000 acres of glorious Suffolk countryside, there are leisurely walks through woodlands and fields to embark on, natural wonders to enjoy and history to discover, including the year-round café serving locally-sourced dishes.
Rougham Estate is a welcoming location for you to relax and be inspired, offering a range of opportunities to immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings. From the sunflowers in the summer to the Christmas festival, well-respected Crafts events and workshops that bring the estate to life throughout the year, the Estate is committed to sustainability and conservation.
CONSERVATION
Rougham Estate takes the role of caring for the environment very seriously. It covers an area of 3,000 acres in total and boasts woodland covering 20% of the whole, amounting to some 655 acres, or twice the national average. In addition to many miles of traditional hedgerows, the Estate is famous for its wonderful oak trees.

Roots Cafe officially opened its doors in October 2023, and reflecting on our journey fills us with pride.

With the sun shining at last, and the warmer weather allowing us to be outside without coats, there is no better way to spend time with the family than with nature and a beautiful cup of coffee from Roots Cafe.
Our sunken garden is really taking hold now – it’s been a year since it was planted and developed. It’s simply a tranquil and beautiful space.

Calling all tractor lovers! 🚜
This Easter Sunday, we will host around 200 stunning vintage tractors for the 36th National Vintage Tractor Run.
These beautifully restored machines will gather from about 8:00am before setting off at around 9:30am on a nostalgic journey through the Suffolk countryside, returning mid-afternoon for one last look before they go.
It’s completely free to visit, with plenty of parking available. Roots Café will be open from 8am to 5pm, and the Garden Room Shop from 10am to 4pm. Estate walks are open too – perfect for a wander while you’re here.

The event is raising money for SARS999 and St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, so please donate if you can.
