About the Rougham Estate Shop
The Rougham Estate Shop is a treasure trove of delights throughout the year. From January to October it specialises in Garden and Lifestyle items and from mid-October to December it transforms into the most magical Christmas Shop.
Situated next to Roots Café, for most of the year this shop is filled with countryside-inspired finds from dried flowers and colourful vases to rustic candles, flower-arranging tools, home fragrances and seasonal home décor.
Come and discover useful gardening essentials, BBQ accessories, garden furniture, eco-friendly toys, thoughtful gifts and even a few treats for your dog. Each item is carefully chosen to enhance your home and garden, without compromising your commitment to the environment.

Muddy Stilettos Regional Award Winner
What an honour to have been voted the 2024 Regional Muddy Stilettos Winner for the Best Lifestyle Store in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire!
Thank you to each one who voted for us – it made our year, especially considering we had only just opened the Garden and Lifestyle Shop a few months before.
If you haven’t been to visit yet, here’s a good reason to come by!!
Bringing the outside in
A curated selection of lifestyle items with a focus on eco-friendly beauty.

Beyond décor items, the Rougham Estate Shop also features household and garden essentials like small tools, aprons, tea towels, well-being products such as handmade soaps and bath oils as well as cards and gift wrap.

Stylish and Sustainable
The lifestyle shop is filled with beautiful interior touches and useful functional finds, with each piece carefully chosen to help you decorate your both your indoor or outdoor spaces. You’ll discover seasonal home décor items from coloured glass and rustic vases to table pieces that bring warmth and charm to your home; perfect whether you’re dressing up a garden table or setting the scene indoors.
Our collections of dried flowers are all grown in England, including some picked from our own garden here on Rougham Estate. They bring a natural, countryside charm to your home and are a simple way to add calm to any room.
The beauty care products are all made in the UK and are created with sustainability at heart; plastic-free packaging, gorgeous garden-inspired scents and products that feel as good as they look.

Blackthorpe Barn is situated just south of Junction 45 of the A14, three miles east of Bury St Edmunds, in the village of Rougham.

The Barn is down the avenue, on the right.
Questions?
All our dried flowers are grown and dried within the UK, with many grown locally in Suffolk and some are from our own garden on Rougham Estate.
Yes, wheelchairs and mobility scooters are able to be used everywhere around Blackthorpe Barn, without any steps. However, due to the nature of the shop being housed in a historic farm building, navigating with mobility scooters can be difficult, especially at busy times and particularly at the weekends.
To ensure the safety of all our customers, it might be easier to visit on quieter days during the week where we can better assist you with access, or use an alternative mobility aid, if possible.
There are accessible parking spaces near the entrance and two accessible toilets, one in the café and one in the courtyard.
You can find out more about the location from the Ground Plan.
You are welcome to pay either by card or cash in the Garden and Lifestyle shop.
We are doing our best to source our offerings from reputable sources and known origins, knowing many of our suppliers personally.
Most of our stock is made from glass, stone, ceramic and metal, avoiding plastic as much as possible.
We are aiming to offer a curated selection of beautiful lifestyle items with a focus on sustainability and beauty.
Yes we do! Gift vouchers are available to buy from £25 upwards and can be used in Roots Café, the Garden and Lifestyle Shop, the Christmas Shop, in Roots Pantry Shop and towards buying Rougham Estate Christmas trees.
The gift vouchers last for 1 year from the date of purchase and can be used over multiple visits. They make great gifts, with a wide range of items to spend them on.
You can find out more and buy Rougham Estate gift vouchers by clicking here (opens in new tab).
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the shop with paws on the floor.
We sell doggie treats which are locally made and other doggie items too.
- Please keep your dog under control at all times and ensure that your dog does not disturb other people’s enjoyment of the premises or block any passageways.
The Garden and Lifestyle Shop is set out in part of what has been known as the Christmas Shop for years.
But don’t worry, we are busy working behind the scenes to create the well-loved Christmas Shop for the coming season and it will be opening again mid-October.

Grab a bite of lunch
Just next door to the Garden Room Shop is Roots Café, serving breakfasts, lunches and coffee and cake, using tasty locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Enjoy a wander
This year we are expanding the number of walks starting from Blackthorpe Barn, with Rougham Estate offering 18 miles of public footpaths and popular cycling routes, alongside additional permissive paths. Coupled with the café and the shop, this creates a superb destination for a relaxing day out in the Suffolk countryside and to enjoy the changing seasons.

We have a variety of sizes and species to choose from.
