Meet Karen Faulkner-Dunkley

Karen Faulkner-Dunkley is the designer and maker behind KFD Jewellery. For more than twenty five years she has been creating elegant jewellery in silver and gold, designed to touch the heart and be worn with style. Each piece is handmade in her Cambridgeshire studio using recycled precious metals and carefully selected gemstones chosen for their natural beauty and meaning.

Karen’s jewellery is created with intention. She loves designing and making one-of-a-kind pieces, remodelling treasured jewellery and crafting bespoke commissions that hold personal stories. Every piece carries a sense of connection; to people, to place and to emotion.

The North Norfolk coast is one of her greatest sources of inspiration. Its textures, light and gentle rhythms are captured in her Water’s Edge collection which evokes the serenity of the shoreline and the beauty found where land meets sea.

Karen also has a deep affinity with turquoise, a stone she associates with the ocean, sky and clarity. Each piece of turquoise she uses is unique and full of character, carrying a sense of calm and natural strength. Karen takes great care to ensure that the origins of her stones can be traced, so each one has integrity as well as beauty.

For Karen, making jewellery is more than a craft, it’s a way of creating something meaningful that becomes part of someone’s story.
