A Walk, chats and a cup of tea
Ramble and Roots first started as “Brew Monday” in January, a day encouraging people to connect over a walk and a cuppa and take a moment to check in with themselves and others. It worked so well that we have added further dates, on the third Monday of each month.
Anyone is welcome who would like come for the walk and stay for the chat. This is an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy some company, get outside in nature and be a part of the Rougham community.
The walk starts from Blackthorpe Barn at 10am with a relaxed, guided route around the Estate, led by a friendly face from the team here. It will take in some of the paths from our Walks around the Estate and will last approximately 45 minutes, depending on the route.
It’s a great chance to enjoy the outdoors, get some gentle exercise and meet new people.
Well-behaved dogs on short leads are very welcome.
When we get back to Blackthorpe Barn, you are welcome to continue chatting and have a bite or drink at Roots Café (at your own cost).
These walks will be happening on the third Monday of each month, so if you can’t make one, then come another time.
There is no cost to join, but we ask that you register your interest by emailing [email protected]

It’s crackers that you can travel across the world and still find a little bit of Rougham Estate.
Our Estate Manager, Simon Eddell, while on holiday, spotted something rather familiar on the shelves – Ryvita, proudly made in England.
We supply rye for @ryvitauk which means that even in Australia there’s a little slice of Rougham. It seems our rye really does have quite the passport.
Sorry… not sorry.

Ok, so you’ve all spoken – or voted, to be precise.
The winning sausage is…
Chipotle & Brie
It’s now going into production with @thurstonbutchers and will be making its way onto the menu as a weekly special, served exclusively at Roots Café.

As we come to the end of our thatching today, we have last week’s progress videos to share with you. While things may look as though they’ve slowed down, it’s quite the opposite, we’re now into the finer finishing details.
The thatch has taken on a beautiful golden colour and the roof is now fully watertight. We’re so pleased with how everything is coming together and can’t wait to share the final video with you in the next few days once the scaffolding is down.

If you’ve been thinking “I need a day to reset…” this is it.
A full day at Rougham Estate this coming Sunday is the perfect opportunity to slow down, breathe, and properly switch off.
Woodland walk in the spring sunshine, yoga, sauna + cold plunge, sound bath… and a nourishing lunch to finish the day off.
A few spaces are still available but not many. So if you would like to join us book now via the website ☺️

If you have been watching the rethatch with interest and are wanting to see it in action - then don’t wait any longer. The thatching is set to finish on Tuesday next week!
As we’ve been on our thatching journey, we’ve been asked plenty of questions and we’ve discovered even more along the way. It’s been a real learning curve for everyone on the Estate and George has been right at the heart of it answering as many questions as he can.
You can watch the full video on our website in The Rougham Post (link in bio), but here’s a little taster of some of the questions we’ve been asked.
