After such a fabulous time last year we are pleased to say that the Plant Pop-Ups hosted by Watsons Plants are now a regular feature at Blackthorpe Barn.
Watsons Plants are the talented team behind the beautiful planting in our courtyard troughs and Chris Watson will be setting up in the courtyard or, if the weather takes a turn, you’ll find him under cover nearby.
Join us from 10am–4pm on Saturdays and Sundays every other weekend to browse a selection of quality plants and pick up expert advice to help your garden thrive this summer, including Bank Holiday Mondays. See the list of dates in the Key Details box.
Free entrance, free parking.
Find out more about Watsons Plants.
You can find the plant stall just outside the entrance to Roots Café and the Rougham Estate Shop.

Our baristas Charlie and Katie are staying one step ahead of the grind with some hands-on training from @butterworths coffee.
From dialling in the perfect shot to steaming milk just right, they’ve been fine-tuning their skills with a local supplier that really knows its beans!
It’s all about raising the bar(ista) and making sure every cup we serve is brewed to perfection.
Come and put them to the test…☕️

The weather’s looking a little more inviting… which can only mean one thing – it’s time to get out and explore.
There is no better place to do that than in the Suffolk countryside amongst the daffies and other spring flowers.
Our walks around Rougham Estate are the perfect excuse to enjoy a breath of fresh air, stretch your legs, and take in the beauty of the estate as the seasons begin to shift.
Whether it’s a gentle wander or something a little more purposeful, there’s a range of different walks to suit most abilities and all listed on our website.
Then, perhaps a well-earned stop at Roots Café afterwards - and a detour to the Rougham Estate Shop?
What a perfect day out!

We realise we are a little late to the party with this post, but we could not let the week pass without celebrating Suzy - our brilliant visual merchandiser and who is also a qualified florist. She was back on our screens last Sunday for series three of the Jimmy and Shivvy farmhouse show.
Suzy was invited back to share more of her crafting expertise after her previous appearance on the series.
We are very proud to see a member of our team showcasing her skills to the rest of the country because she is really that good. So good that you will see her creativity shine through in the shop when you visit.
If you missed the broadcast, we highly recommend finding it on catch up where she features alongside Paul Hainsworth. In the meantime, you can see Suzy’s creative work in person by visiting the Rougham Estate shop to view her latest displays and floral arrangements.

Join us for a fused glass cactus sculpture workshop, where you’ll design and make your own striking piece to take home.
It’s hands-on, a little bit different, and brilliantly satisfying – and no experience needed, just a willingness to have a go.
You’ll be guided through the process step by step, working with colour, shape and texture to bring your cactus to life in glass. A perfect way to try something new and leave with something truly unique.
Book via our website.

It’s crackers that you can travel across the world and still find a little bit of Rougham Estate.
Our Estate Manager, Simon Eddell, while on holiday, spotted something rather familiar on the shelves – Ryvita, proudly made in England.
We supply rye for @ryvitauk which means that even in Australia there’s a little slice of Rougham. It seems our rye really does have quite the passport.
Sorry… not sorry.

Ok, so you’ve all spoken – or voted, to be precise.
The winning sausage is…
Chipotle & Brie
It’s now going into production with @thurstonbutchers and will be making its way onto the menu as a weekly special, served exclusively at Roots Café.

As we come to the end of our thatching today, we have last week’s progress videos to share with you. While things may look as though they’ve slowed down, it’s quite the opposite, we’re now into the finer finishing details.
The thatch has taken on a beautiful golden colour and the roof is now fully watertight. We’re so pleased with how everything is coming together and can’t wait to share the final video with you in the next few days once the scaffolding is down.
