Browse for plants, get advice

After such a fabulous time last year we are pleased to say that the Plant Pop-Ups hosted by Watsons Plants are now a regular feature at Blackthorpe Barn.

Watsons Plants are the talented team behind the beautiful planting in our courtyard troughs and Chris Watson will be setting up in the courtyard or, if the weather takes a turn, you’ll find him under cover nearby.

Join us from 10am–4pm on Saturdays and Sundays every other weekend to browse a selection of quality plants and pick up expert advice to help your garden thrive this summer, starting with an extra long weekend at Easter, from Friday 3rd April to Tuesday 7th April, and including other Bank Holiday Mondays. See the list of dates in the Key Details.

Free entrance, free parking.
Find out more about Watsons Plants.

You can find the plant stall just outside the entrance to Roots Café and the Rougham Estate Shop.

Thatch update… week eight

We’re nearly there.

On this Easter Day, we’re entering the final stages, with the team working on the ridge, the detail that brings the whole roof together.

Blackthorpe Barn continues to take on its rich golden finish, and it’s been something special to watch this traditional craft unfold week by week.

With completion now in sight, if you’ve been thinking of visiting to see the thatchers at work, we’d recommend doing so soon.

If you’re spending part of your Easter with us, take the time to enjoy the café and explore the shop.

Spring is here!

We say goodbye to March, a month where we saw the clocks spring forward with longer, lighter days.

There was plenty happening here on the Estate with more to come in this beautiful month of April.
