Donna Goymer Art
meet Donna Goymer
Donna lives outside Cambridge in a beautiful rural setting. Her inspiration comes from the world around her, whether it is nature or man-made. She continually takes photographs, sketches and paints ideas. Her interests lie in the sense of place, of memories evoked and the sense of being, and her practice incorporates paint, stitch and printmaking, exploring ideas and techniques with constant searching and pushing herself.
She doesn’t want to replicate what she sees in front of her, rather wishing to portray the energy, the atmosphere and the colours of the landscape.
Donna’s explorations have allowed her to experiment with the memories of the landscapes she sees around her, using mark-making, shape and forms; sometimes enhancing this with stitch, she continually pushes the boundaries of her semi-abstracted work.
In September 2024 she started a Fine Art Printmaking certificate at Curwen Print Centre and her artwork embraces these techniques, enabling her to explore ideas further.
Her artwork is fluid, never the same, this being a reflection of herself and her personality, and so she embraces this in her art.
