Paint a sunflower in the sunflower field

Sunflowers are such joyous and uplifting flowers – why not come and join us at the Rougham Sunflower field for an afternoon of painting your own sunflowers! Enjoy a relaxing time outdoors being guided by artist Sarah Day of Day Design.

Imagine sitting in a field of sunflowers on a summer’s day, the Suffolk sky stretching out above you, a paintbrush in your hand and your very own sunflowers to capture on canvas – all very van Gogh. This painting workshop offers you a chance to slow down and create something beautiful you can be proud of and hang on your wall. You may well surprise yourself!

You don’t need any previous experience and no artistic confidence is required. Sarah will gently guide you through every brushstroke and lead you, step-by-step, into creating your own colourful sunflower artwork using acrylic paints. With demonstrations and support throughout, you’ll build confidence while enjoying the process in a welcoming, social setting.

By the time the afternoon draws to a close you’ll have your own original painting to take home, along with memories of one of those times that reminds you just how good it feels to be outside, doing something with your hands, in the company of lovely people.

What will I do?
  • Learn basic acrylic painting techniques and brush skills
  • Be guided step-by-step to create a sunflower painting
  • Enjoy a relaxed social atmosphere while you paint outdoors in the sunflower field
  • Take home your finished artwork
What’s included?
  • Everything you need for the painting is included
  • Canvas, paints, brushes
  • 1 or 2 sunflowers from our field
  • A cocktail or mocktail
Who is this workshop suitable for?
  • People aged 16 and over
  • Beginners, no experience necessary
  • Anyone with an interest in creativity and trying something new
