Meet Carole Bonney

Carole makes unique stoneware pottery characterised by curving sculptural profiles and painterly surfaces. Each piece is individually hand-built in response to the local landscape, seascapes and seasonal changes.

Among her work you will discover:

‘The Dog Walk Diaries’ – sketches in clay, of places new and familiar walked with her dog.

‘Wave Bowls’ – inspired by watching the sea

‘Found Things’ – pots in the form of shells, stones, or anything interesting that can be picked up and pocketed

From a busy career in design, and now a full-time artist and potter, Carole revels in the slow process of building, carving and layering slips and glazes to create slowly-made works, that hopefully draw you in.

Although her work is decorative, the design element is still there. All her pots are robust and will hold flowers, bits of loose change or dried up pens.
