Husband and wife duo Myles and Madeleine have been specialising in steam bending wood for over a decade and were recently seen demonstrating their craft on ITVs Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend.

LayerTree are here to provide a high quality, affordable alternative to mass produced furniture, lighting and gifts. All pieces in their collection marry the ancient technique of steam-bending with modern textiles and lighting components to create a unique aesthetic. The use of English timber, British made components and carefully sourced textiles ensures the durability and longevity of each item that they make.

The low energy and ecological technique of ‘steam bending’ is at the heart of all their designs. By steaming wood and then forming it into shape they completely eliminate the need for any unpleasant glues or fixtures. The minimal wastage aspect of this technique paired with compostable packaging shows dedication to making LayerTree a planet sensitive business.
