Claire Pirie Ceramics
MEET Claire Pirie
Claire is a Suffolk potter (with a Scottish accent) and studied 3D Design – Ceramics at Bath in the early ’90s and by the third year of the degree she knew thrown functional ware was her thing. However, it was not until Autumn 2021 that she was able to become a full-time potter and start selling her work.
The focus of her work is form and function, making pieces to enhance our everyday life. She throws with white and blue porcelain and often leaves exteriors unglazed so you can enjoy the colour and tactile quality of polished porcelain.
Her work includes fruit colanders, tea light holders, vases and dimple/double-walled pots (her version of a trinket dish), and for Christmas she also makes porcelain decorations.
