We have been busy in January 2025 planting 100 new oak trees on a new block of land the Estate recently purchased in the autumn.
The land at Rougham Estate has a distinctive landscape of fields surrounded by hedgerows, woodland and mature oak trees and we are keen to extend this landscape and create vital wildlife corridors across the Estate.
Part of this year’s planting on this new land has been particularly special as it is the first step of restoring this lost green lane to its former glory.
Next year we hope to fill the gaps between the trees with a native hedge to provide a winter feed source, nesting habitat and a wildlife corridor.
In the future we hope this old green lane will look as glorious as it used to.
