Unfortunately struck by lightning
On the night of 22 August 2017 this unfortunate oak tree on the corner of Church Road was struck by lightning.
Since then we had been closely monitoring it and was hoping it would pull through and survive but unfortunately, it hasn’t made it. A couple of days ago we made the difficult decision that it had to come down because of decay in the bottom and dead limbs hanging above it. It was becoming a significant health and safety risk to road users. A tree-like this will have seen many things over its time and decisions like this I can assure you don’t come easy.
