Louise Pettersson

meet Louise PETTERSSON

Based in Stowupland in Suffolk, Louise Pettersson uses ceramics to create beautiful but functional pieces. She makes her own moulds to slip cast shapes, decorating them using the techniques of sgraffito and wax resist. Her work is predominately inspired by the Suffolk countryside and the creatures found within it.

Louise returned to set up her practice in Suffolk after graduating with BA Hons 3D Materials Practice at Brighton University, prior to that 3 years at West Suffolk College within the town of Bury St Edmunds.

Her leather masks are approached from a background of living history and folklore, the masks are fashioned to be used in plays, masked balls and celebrations.
