Hassina Khan Glass
Meet Hassina Khan
Hassina specialises in kiln-formed glass, using fusing and slumping techniques as well as traditional glass painting to make objects and vessels that enrich homes and spaces. She makes both functional and decorative ware, which are noted for their simplicity of form and their limited colour palette.
Some of her work is informed and inspired by her mixed-race English Pakistani heritage, and includes organic shapes and complex patterns. Hassina’s current work includes bowls, vases, hand-painted birds, coasters and small decorations.
Hassina studied at the University of Sunderland based in the National Glass Centre, where she was awarded an Innovation Scholarship and where her final work was acquired for the permanent collection at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens. Since finishing in 2022, she has been accepted as a select member of Suffolk Craft Society and the Crafts Council Directory, and recently as a graduate member of Design Nation.
