Weather on the Estate 2020
As 2020 draws to a close it is typically a time that we as farmers look back at the weather and how it has impacted
In 2002 The Rougham Estate became British Christmas Tree Grower of the Year and provided the magnificent tree that stood outside No 10 Downing Street in central London. It featured on many news broadcasts during its time on display. The tree was such good quality that the Estate was asked to provide the tree for Downing Street twice more in 2004 and 2006.
A little about the trees we grow…….
Nordmann Fir This is the most popular tree in Scandinavia and rapidly gaining in popularity here in the UK. As people put up their trees earlier and earlier the need for needle retention gets more important. Nordmann Fir retains their needles better than other trees, so for many customers, this makes them a winner.
Norway Spruce These traditional Christmas trees have a really festive scent. We advise you not to bring them indoors too soon and they will require watering to stay fresh.
As well as Nordmann Fir and Norway Spruces we also grow Blue Spruce and Nobel Firs.
Pot grown trees Nordmann and Norway Spruce are also available for sale.
All of our Christmas trees are available from Blackthorpe Barn and range in size from three foot tall to 25 foot tall. Trees over 10 foot tall can be ordered specially by contacting Simon Eddell.
Rougham Estate is a proud member of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association.
