Don’t forget the brambles

This is National Insect Week so I thought that I would go out into the garden and find some insects to try to photograph, using the new macro lens that we have just bought to clip onto the I-Phone.

There was bright sun and the borders were buzzing with insects or so I thought. As I wandered around the garden in search of the perfect photograph, I ended up looking at a bed of brambles, in one of the wilder parts of the garden and there I found masses more types of insects, all the honey bees and this ladybird too. I suddenly realised that this was the place to go to find the insects. Fancy garden flowers are all very well but insects know what they want and that is a bed of brambles! Do remember to leave somewhere you can, in your garden. They are a wonderful habitat and they produce blackberries too!
